Telegram to the University of Virginia football team [manuscript], 1950 November 17.

Western Union telegram with hundreds of fans names following the note: "Although we can't be there, we'll all be listening--so tromp that Green Wave--we know you've got the stuff." The Cavalier Daily (student newspaper) sponsored a program for University of Virginia students and fans to show support for the football team who had high hopes for a bowl bid should they defeat Tulane University. The program was in the form of a telegram. Students were asked to pay a dime to add their name to the telegram which was to be delivered to the football squad in New Orleans. Unfortunately, bowl bid hopes were dashed as "the Green Wave" swamped the Cavaliers, 42-18.
